The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Pediatrics Section is housed at Children's of Alabama, the state's only free-standing children's hospital.

Our faculty understand pediatric orthopaedics from a clinical care setting and apply their expertise in the lab as well as in their training of residents. Our faculty are passionate about conducting research that will better the lives of their patients as well as patients across the nation. They conduct comprehensive pediatrics research, ranging from sports medicine to trauma, and they aim to discover new treatments for diseases like scoliosis and other spinal problems, pediatric fractures, deformities, and neuromuscular conditions.

Our faculty provide specialized services that are difficult to access elsewhere in Alabama or the Southeast, including limb lengthening, reconstruction of brachial plexus birth injury, computer-guided navigation for scoliosis surgery, and specialized cast treatment for infantile scoliosis.
