Dudeja awarded DOD grant to study pancreatitis
Director of the Division of Surgical Oncology Vikas Dudeja, MBBS, was awarded a Department of Defense (DOD) grant, which will fund his project, “Evaluation of NADPH Oxidase 1/4 Inhibition as a Novel Therapeutic Strategy Against Chronic Pancreatitis.”
Shao awarded Claude Organ M.D. Resident Award at SBAS
General surgery resident Connie Shao, M.D., was a Claude H. Organ Jr. M.D., Resident Award recipient at this year’s Society of Black Academic Surgeons (SBAS) for her presentation, “Increased risk of post-operative mortality with obesity, age, male sex among COVID-19 surgical patients.”
