Congratulations are in order to Mary Jane Gibson, who recently accepted the position of Associate Director of Development for the Heersink School of Medicine (HSOM ) development team after serving as the Corporate Development and Special Events Manager for the UAB O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center since 2021.

Congratulations to Beth Eddings, who recently accepted the position of Director of HSOM Alumni Affairs after serving as the Assistant Director since February 2019.

We’re excited to welcome Kionna McCain to UAB Advancement. As a Development Coordinator, Kionna will assist Development Officers in in identifying and cultivating potential major gift prospects for the schools and units. She will also support the Development efforts of assigned areas in all aspects of donor engagement and solicitation.

We’re thrilled to welcome Clay Shannon to the team as the Director of Annual Giving. In this role, Clay will lead a three-person team in developing a comprehensive, centralized, multi-channel annual giving program.

We’re so excited to welcome Savannah Barrentine to UAB Advancement! Savannah is joining us as the Assistant Director of Development in the School of Education and Human Sciences. In this role, she will work closely with Dean Teresa Doughty and Lisa Pritchett to develop strategic fundraising priorities and strategies for the school.

We’re excited to welcome Anna Aderholt to the team. Anna is joining UAB Advancement as a Development Coordinator.

Also joining UAB Advancement is Erin B. Clarkson, LMSW, MPH. As Manager for the Grateful Patient Program, Erin will be responsible for operationalizing and overseeing a comprehensive grateful patient program that will generate increased private gift support.
