Amy Neimkin, DNP, MBA, CRNA, a 2009 graduate of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing, is the recipient of the 2015 Daniel D. Vigness Federal Political Director of the Year Award presented by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).The Daniel D. Vigness Federal Political Director Award was established in 2001 by the AANA Board of Directors to acknowledge a CRNA who has made significant contributions in advancing the AANA's federal health care agenda through state and federal grassroots political initiatives while serving as an FPD for their state association.
Neimkin currently works as a practicing CRNA and clinical instructor at UAB Hospital. Since 2009, Neimkin has served six consecutive terms as an FPD, and has been an active member of the ALANA and AANA since beginning her career nearly 40 years ago.
