University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing alumna Jackie Martinek, MHSA, BSN, RN (BSN 1979), has been named Group Chief Nursing Officer for Brookwood Baptist Health. Martinek began her nursing career in 1979 as a staff nurse at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center (formerly Brookwood Hospital) and also served as Chief Nursing Officer there from 2004 to 2017 before being named Associate Chief Nursing Officer at UAB Hospital.
Committed to high quality, compassionate care, Martinek serves as the president of the Alabama Organization for Nursing Leadership and is certified in Executive Nursing Practice.
Succeeding Robbie Hindman who retired after 22 years with Brookwood Baptist Health, Martinek said, “Brookwood is home to me. This facility, the patients and the staff have been such an important part of my life, and I’m completely humbled to have the opportunity to return.”
